Where It All Started
In 1990 Art Boom Limited Editions, a fine art publishing company, was founded in southern California. By 1995 over 2,500 galleries in the U.S. had purchased its posters or limited editions. In 1997 Art Boom began supplying large national retail stores with framed art. This activity has continued up to the present and our high volume allows us to offer retail and commercial customers lower prices than other custom picture framers.
The Establishment of Bay Frames
In late 1999 Bay Frames was established by the Art Boom owners in Newark, Ca (between Oakland and San Jose) to provide a high volume, high quality frame shop for better servicing our accounts.Our production facility frames up to 100 pictures daily, and boxes and ships to accounts throughout the U.S. In 2003 we added retail and wholesale custom picture framing into our operation, which provides a service area for residential and commercial framing. We have since relocated to a larger store in Fremont, California located off the 880 freeway, Auto Mall Parkway exit.
About the owner of Bay Frames
I’ve been an art publisher since 1990 to present and a Frame shop owner from 1992 to present. I love the industry – aesthetics. Love giving customers a fair deal when it comes to framing, as the mark-ups by other framing shops can be staggering and cost-prohibitive. I’ve been selling art since 1972 and have a good sensibility about the marketplace.
